Cookie Policy

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on the user's computer or mobile device while the user visits it. The information stored in cookies can include personal data, such as an IP address, username, a unique identifier, or an email address, but they can also contain non-personal data such as language settings or information about the type of device a person is using to browse the website. Cookies can perform important and diverse functions, including monitoring sessions, storing information about specific configurations regarding users who access the server, facilitating access to online content, etc. The same result can also be achieved through the use of other tools (e.g., fingerprinting, which allows identification of the device used by the user by collecting all or some of the information related to the device's specific configuration adopted by the user) that enable processing similar to the ones mentioned above.

Cookie Classification

Cookies and other tracking tools can have different characteristics in terms of time, subject, or functionality: · Persistent cookies are stored on the user's computer and are not deleted automatically when the browser is closed, unlike session cookies, which are deleted when the browser is closed. Session cookies are made of random numbers generated by the server to allow secure and efficient browsing of the website; · First-party cookies are the cookies created by the website the user is visiting: only that website can read them. A website may also use external services that create their own cookies, called third-party cookies. · Technical cookies are required by some IT systems and are necessary for the correct functioning of certain web pages. Consent is not required for these cookies; · Preference or customization cookies are cookies that allow the user to remember information so that they can access the service with certain characteristics that can differentiate their experience from that of other users, such as, for example, language or number of results to display; · Statistical cookies are used to facilitate navigation within the site, improve its usability, and identify the content of greater interest to users. The data is collected in an aggregated form; · Marketing cookies are used to link specific actions or recurring behavioral patterns in the use of offered functionalities (patterns) to certain individuals, identified or identifiable, in order to group different profiles into homogeneous clusters of varying sizes, so that the service delivery can be further personalized beyond what is strictly necessary for the service provision, as well as to send targeted advertisements that align with the preferences expressed by the user in their web browsing.
